Matt & Julie Cooper
Mexico Director
Meet the Cooper Family: Matt, Julie, Corinna, Chloe, Jake, Cameron, Caroline and Caleb. Both Matt and Julie hold bachelors degrees from Indiana University and Masters in Ministry from Bethel College. Matt and Julie felt God's calling to ministry even before they were married. They joined the Back2Back staff in March of 2003. The Coopers have experience in social work and were foster parents in Indiana before moving to Mexico.
Since the fall of 2007 Matt and Julie have been the house parents for the James House where they parent eight teenage boys, ages fifteen to twenty years old, who are all pursuing their high school and/or college education. Matt oversees the Hope Program for Back2Back and is the captain of Casa Hogar Betesda. Julie is affectionately known as the "food queen," as her responsibilities include planning all of the food needs for visiting teams. Matt and Julie both have hearts for the discipleship of teens, and desire to see the boys in their home grow to love the Lord with all of their heart, strength and soul. Matt and Julie desire to share God's heart with their "sons" and the children of Mexico who have not fully experienced His love, nor that of a mother or father.
