Casa Hogar Douglas was founded in the 60’s.  Casa Hogar Douglas currently has 70 plus children.  Casa Hogar Douglas was the first ministry site that Back2Back began a partnership with in 1997.  Back2Back helped Casa Hogar Douglas in 2004 set up a garden center to help generate funds for the children’s home.  Back2Back also with the help of some of our ministry partners like Family Christian Stores, James Fund built a new dormitory for the oldest boys in 2005.  In addition, Back2Back teaches children in a carpentry shop to build picnic tables and exterior lawn furniture that they sell in the garden center.  We have a handful of ongoing construction projects and activities currently in process.

Vision:

To be a model institution, caring and forming children and adolescents, providing education, food, moral and spiritual support, a home with adequate facilities and well trained staff to meet their needs and facilitate them in  developing their potential to be excellent citizens.

Mission: 

In Casa Hogar Douglas our mission is to help children and adolescents that have diverse life circumstances that have taken them away from the security of a family.  We provide for them a home, education, food, affection, medical services, spiritual support, and at the same time teach them fundamental values and life skills to become healthy individuals, so they may have success in the end of our time with them and integrate into society.

Long Term Goals:

Workers: Better systems/workers benefits/structure to support children: Do their job, do it well and have the benefits for the children and for them as workers

Dining: To have a structure in place that allows a healthy menu with a constant flow of resources: food, equipment, $’s for purchasing food all equaling the best food care for the children.

Home Budget: To be fully funded, and or have a continual fundraising team/ plan / solution.

Construction: To have a master plan of projects in prioritized order based on need.  Also to include costs of each project.

School: For students to be successful in school.

Individual Child: To have a plan set in place with clear objectives for all parties in the child’s development.  

Dorm Structure: Each dorm to have a system of success for the children with activities and a healthy environment.

Parent Relationship: Create a healthier relationship between families and the childrens' home- ie. same team, same goals= the child.

Staffing Growth: Build a healthy team, that individually is well matched to responsibilities, and meets children’s home needs.

Marketing: Build a greater base for support and resources.
